Our story
Building community, right here at home
CARE Communities is on a mission to create an equitable and just community through high-quality affordable housing and transformative resident services.
30 YEARS and counting
CARE was established in 1992 by a team led by Sister Mary Alice Murphy, and her pioneering spirit and example of service still drives our organization. We believe that opportunity begins with home, and we advocate tirelessly to connect more families with the homes and support they need to thrive.
CARE develops and manages affordable housing communities that provide services to empower families and build community. Our reach has grown to seven communities, and we’re just getting started. As we enter our fourth decade, CARE brings a renewed focus to meeting the affordable housing crisis with ingenuity, agility, and compassion.
This is such critical work. How CARE leads is really important.
Working together
CARE is built on innovative public and private partnerships. Our expertise is in housing finance, development, property management, and social service. Through our collaborative partnerships, CARE has successfully developed six affordable housing communities in Fort Collins and one in Windsor.
Every development has been uniquely designed to be incorporated into its surrounding neighborhood and serves as a model for affordable housing.
We are proud to serve Northern Colorado households with income up to 60% of the Area’s Median Income. CARE offers a wide range of home options, and every community boasts its own suite of family-friendly amenities.
Our communities provide people the opportunity to allocate a reasonable portion of their income toward housing and apply remaining income for the betterment of their families and future. From the first moment you experience CARE, you’ll understand our name and commitment to you, your family, and our housing communities.
If it wasn’t for CARE, I would not have had such amazing opportunities that are significantly improving my life and my son’s life.
