We’re committed to working with our contractors to meet Section 3 requirements and provide economic opportunities for the communities we serve.
Section 3 is a provision in the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 (12 U.S.C. Section 1701u and 24 C.F.R. Section 135) that seeks to ensure that economic opportunities, to the greatest extent feasible, are given to low and very low-income persons. Under Section 3, certain contractors must provide hiring, training, contract opportunities, and/or other economic opportunities for Section 3 residents and businesses.
Information on Section 3’s requirements can be found on HUD’s Section 3 webpage under 24 C.F.R. Section 135.
