Heartside Hill

Born of an innovative public/private partnership, Heartside Hill will be a collaborative community on the northwest corner of Trilby Road and Lemay Avenue in Fort Collins. Along with affordable rental apartments and community amenities, Heartside Hill will be home to onsite early childhood and youth services, affordable homeownership opportunities, and support for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Innovative partnership

Heartside Hill is an innovative collaboration between CARE Communities, Heart of the Rockies Christian Church, Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity, and L’Arche Northern Colorado. Working together, we are building a community campus that will provide a diversity of housing types for people at various income levels.

Heartside Hill Apartments are financed by state and federal tax credits combined with Private Activity Bonds, local and state sources from the City of Fort Collins, Larimer County, and the Colorado Division of Housing. 16 project based vouchers will be provided by Housing Catalyst.

Swallow Road Acquisition and Renovation

In partnership with Housing Catalyst, CARE Communities acquired 1403 West Swallow Road and rehabilitated the community building and 84 apartments at 1303 and 1403 West Swallow Road, originally built in the mid-1990s. The rehabilitation included major apartment interior updates, exterior building improvements, and overall site enhancements. Construction was completed in 2022.
